Training with The Institute For The Psychology Of Eating

In 2018 I was awarded a partial Scholarship to train as a Mind, Body, Nutrition Coach with the Institute For The Psychology of Eating https://psychologyofeating.com/

as part of the process we had to create a Social Media Post linked to our interest in this area. This was mine.

We are into the last quarter of the year, our new year 2018 resolutions are long forgotten and I have no doubt that over the next few weeks the adverts for get “thin” quick programs and products will start filling up our newsfeed.

Thinking about this reminded me of a time in my teens when I was walking home from my part time job and two of my friends had come to meet me. As we walked home I was telling them about the latest fad diet I was on and they jokingly started to chant at me “we love you the way you are” the laughter of that moment and that phrase thankfully lasted longer than the fad diet and for many years we joked about it.

However years later I also realised just how powerful the message was. My Be Balanced Program has grown out of my own experience of healing my thoughts & beliefs around food and dealing with the emotional weight and baggage I was carrying.

Our bodies are amazing, they are already perfect (just think of all they do for us) but when was the last time you looked in mirror and allowed that to be your first thought.

What if instead of trying to motivate ourselves by have to’s, should’s & self criticism? we were motivated by self love, self compassion and a desire to be the healthiest and happiest we could be. Can you imagine the difference?

What if we could love ourselves just the way we are? What if we could love ourselves like our friends love us? What if we could be our own best friend?

When love becomes our motivator everything changes We exercise because we want to be healthy & strong . We eat food that nourishes and supports our body. We keep hydrated We rest and allow ourselves time to recharge.

Not because we HAVE TO or we SHOULD but because we love yourselves enough to WANT to.

Let your friends know you love them just the way they are. Love is infectious they might just catch it
